What You’re Fundraising For

We are raising funds for two vital conservation programs at NOA: the Pacific Northwest Biodiversity and Conservation Program and the Leatherback Sea Turtle Conservation and Sustainability Program. The Pacific Northwest program immerses students into California's marine ecosystems and involves them in conservation efforts, such as the sea urchin removal project along the Mendocino coast. The Leatherback Sea Turtle program focuses on conserving critically endangered sea turtles through research initiatives and hands-on activities like conducting night-time censuses of nesting turtles. Each program aims to support 4 groups of 20 students, providing them with invaluable experiences in biodiversity conservation.

Additionally, we are seeking funding for our Experiential Online Marine Biology Program: Our Oceans, Wildlife, and Marine Conservation. This project aims to offer marine biology education to 200 students from various California public middle and high schools. scheduled to run September to May each year, this comprehensive program includes a blend of online learning and hands-on activities, empowering students to become stewards of our planet’s marine ecosystems. With your support, we can inspire the next generation of environmental leaders and foster a lifelong commitment to marine conservation among California’s youth.
